DRY / SENSITIVE / RED / AGEING

This is somebody that may have been diagnosed with rosacea by your physician. Or maybe you haven’t, but your skin gets red often, flushes easily, or feels warm to the touch and people may comment that you look sunburned when you aren’t. If redness is a concern for you, you might be a Skin Type 9.

You could also fit into this category if you only have some redness but you find that your skin is still red 30 minutes or longer after a hot shower. You may not feel like you have rosacea, but if it is a concern, you have fair skin, and redness runs in the family, this could still be you.

This is someone who feels like their skin needs moisture all year and drinks up all the moisture it can find. You can tolerate heavy moisturiser and you’re not worried about clogged pores or breaking out. You want to achieve a moist, dewy environment on the skin to keep it supple and glowing.

You also might have enlarged pores in the T-zone and get blackheads. Typically, as the skin ages, your pores actually do get larger, which may cause blackheads to become more noticeable. The Skin Type 9 routine addresses this by focusing on actively shrinking your pores.

If you have a drier or fair skin type, your pores may be smaller and you might not be concerned with larger pores. That’s fine, you can still be a Skin Type 9.

You have to be careful about which products you use because certain ingredients can make your skin irritable or cause rashes.

You may have brown spots, melasma, or freckles, or you may not. Even if you don’t, you can still be a Skin Type 9, but if you do this skin type’s regimen addresses that.

The typical age of a Skin Type 9 is 35 and older. You’re focused on preventing visible ageing and putting moisture on the skin and keeping the redness at bay
