A-New Start Guide
Your A-New Journey.
Your guide to building healthier skin with A-New
Congratulations on beginning your A-New journey. Whether your goal is smoother texture, healthier-looking skin, clearer-looking pores, a more even skin tone or addressing early signs of ageing, A-New has been designed to support healthy skin renewal over time.
Before You Begin
Everyone's skin is different.
Some people adjust to retinal quickly, while others need a little more time. Both experiences are completely normal.
The goal isn't to use A-New every night as soon as possible. The goal is to build a routine that keeps your skin comfortable while supporting healthy skin renewal over time.
✓ Begin with freshly cleansed skin
✓ Allow Repair Hydromist to absorb before applying A-New
✓ Introduce gradually
✓ Support your skin with moisturiser
✓ Wear SPF every morning
✓ Consistency beats intensity
Why We Recommend Starting Slowly
Healthy skin adapts gradually. Introducing retinal slowly gives your skin time to adjust while maintaining comfort and supporting long-term results. Rather than aiming for nightly use immediately, focus on building a routine your skin can comfortably maintain.

Your First Eight Weeks
Week 1–2
Use A-New two evenings each week.
↓
Week 3–4
Increase to three evenings if your skin feels comfortable.
↓
Week 5–8
Continue building gradually.
Most people don't need nightly use.
Many people achieve excellent long-term results using A-New three to five evenings each week.

What You Can Expect
Weeks 1–2
Your skin is adapting.
Mild dryness or flaking can occur while your skin adjusts.
↓
Weeks 3–6
Skin often feels smoother.
Texture becomes more refined.
Some people notice clearer-looking pores.
↓
Months 2–3
Fine lines, uneven skin tone, congestion and rough texture may gradually begin improving.
↓
Months 3–6+
Continued healthy skin renewal supports smoother texture, improved resilience and healthier-looking skin overall.
Why Different People Notice Different Results
A-New supports the natural biological processes that help skin renew itself, but the first improvements you notice will depend on your individual skin concerns and goals.
Some people notice smoother texture first, while others see improvements in congestion, uneven skin tone or the appearance of fine lines.
You may first notice:
• Smoother skin texture
• Clearer-looking pores and congestion
• Brighter, more even-looking skin tone
• Softer-looking fine lines
• Healthier, more resilient-looking skin
Every skin journey is unique, which is why consistency is far more important than comparing your progress with someone else's.
What to Avoid on the Same Evening
Some active ingredients are best used on alternate nights rather than layered together.
Avoid combining A-New with:
- Clarify Tonic
- Reveal Tonic
- Dual Action Peel
- Reveal Face Polish
- Other retinoid products
Alternating these treatments helps minimise irritation while allowing each ingredient to perform effectively.
Alternate Active Nights
Instead of trying to use every active ingredient on the same evening, alternate them.
| Day | Evening |
|---|---|
| Monday | 🌙 A-New |
| Tuesday | 🌿 B-Strong or B-Gentle |
| Wednesday | 🌙 A-New |
| Thursday |
Exfoliation night Choose the exfoliating product recommended for your skin. Use only one exfoliating treatment on any given evening. |
| Friday | 🌙 A-New |
| Saturday | 🌿 Recovery: Repair Hydromist + moisturiser |
| Sunday | 🌙 A-New, or another recovery night if needed |
Your Reveal Face Polish or Dual Action Peel replaces your tonic on the evening you use it. Do not use both a tonic and an exfoliating treatment on the same night.

If Your Skin Needs Extra Support
Mild dryness or temporary flaking can occur while your skin adjusts. If this happens:
- Reduce A-New to one or two evenings each week.
- Continue using Repair Hydromist and moisturiser.
- Choose Restore Cream if additional nourishment is needed.
- Pause exfoliating tonics, polishes and peels.
- Increase frequency again only when your skin feels comfortable.
If you experience persistent burning, swelling, marked redness, cracking or significant discomfort, stop using A-New and seek advice from your skin professional or healthcare practitioner.
Common Questions
Can I use Vitamin C?
Yes. Vitamin C is generally best used in the morning, followed by moisturiser and SPF, while A-New is used in the evening.
Can I use niacinamide?
Yes. Niacinamide complements retinal and can help support hydration, barrier function and skin comfort. Use B-Strong or B-Gentle on alternate evenings if preferred.
Can I use peptides?
Yes. Peptides work well within a retinal routine and can support hydration and healthier-looking skin.
Can I exfoliate?
Yes, but use exfoliating tonics, polishes and peels on alternate evenings. Avoid introducing several exfoliating treatments while your skin is still adjusting to A-New.
Can I wax?
Retinal may make skin more vulnerable to irritation or lifting during facial waxing. Pause A-New for several days before waxing and wait until the skin feels fully comfortable before restarting. Follow your therapist’s advice.
Can I use A-New during pregnancy or breastfeeding?
Avoid topical Vitamin A products during pregnancy and breastfeeding unless their use has been specifically discussed with your healthcare professional.
Will my skin purge?
Not everyone experiences purging. Some people may notice a temporary increase in small breakouts or congestion as skin cell turnover increases, while many experience no purging at all. If breakouts are widespread, painful, itchy or continue worsening, reduce use and seek professional advice rather than assuming it is normal purging.
Can I use A-New around my eyes?
Avoid applying A-New directly to the eyelids or too close to the lash line. The eye area is thinner and often more sensitive. Use Renew Eye Cream, which is specifically designed for this delicate area.
When should I stop increasing frequency?
Stop increasing when you have found a schedule that keeps your skin consistently comfortable. Nightly use is not necessary for everyone; many people achieve excellent results using A-New three to five evenings each week.
Can I apply A-New to damp skin?
For the most comfortable introduction, apply A-New after Repair Hydromist has absorbed into the skin. Avoid applying to very wet skin, as this may increase the likelihood of irritation in some people.
Do I need to give my Renew Eye Cream rest days?
Renew Eye Cream is designed for regular evening use. If you're new to retinal around the eyes, begin 2–3 nights per week and gradually increase to nightly use as your skin becomes comfortable. Once adapted, most people can use it every evening without planned recovery nights.
Joanne's Advice
One of the most common mistakes I see is people trying to rush the process. Beautiful skin isn't created by doing more—it's created by supporting your skin consistently over time. If your skin feels comfortable, you're usually on the right track. Trust the process and allow your skin to adapt gradually.
Remember...
There is no perfect schedule.
Some people comfortably use retinal every evening, while others achieve beautiful long-term results using it three to five nights each week.
The goal isn't to use A-New as often as possible.
The goal is to build a routine your skin loves and that you can enjoy consistently.
