SHANGA ACADEMY MODULE 1 – THE SHANGA METHOD Question Answered How does Shanga think? Learning Outcomes By the end of this module therapists will understand: ✓ Why Shanga exists
✓ The Shanga philosophy
✓ The four Shanga Rituals
✓ How the ritual framework works
✓ How to use the Shanga Skin Diagnosis Pyramid
✓ How to confidently prescribe personalised rituals SECTION 1 BRAND FOUNDATION Slide 1 – Welcome to Shanga On Slide Welcome to Shanga Therapist Certification Ritual-Led Skin Wellness Education. Confidence. Results. What to Say "Welcome to the Shanga Therapist Certification Program. This training has been designed to give you the confidence to understand skin, prescribe rituals and deliver consistent client outcomes. Throughout this course you'll learn the Shanga philosophy, our ritual system, our consultation framework and how each product supports skin function. By the end of the program you'll be able to confidently prescribe Shanga as a complete skin wellness solution." Slide 2 – Why Shanga Exists On Slide The skincare industry often creates: • Complexity
• Confusion
• Product overload
• Inconsistent results Shanga was created to simplify skincare through ritual. What to Say "Many clients arrive overwhelmed. They're following advice from social media. They're layering active ingredients without understanding how they work. The result is often stressed skin and frustrated clients. Shanga was created to simplify this process. Instead of focusing on more products, we focus on better rituals." Slide 3 – The Shanga Philosophy On Slide Healthy skin is built through: ✓ Consistency
✓ Balance
✓ Skin Function
✓ Ritual Not complexity. What to Say "At Shanga we believe healthy skin is not created through complexity. It's created through consistency. Every product, treatment and ritual is designed to support skin function rather than overwhelm it. Our goal is to help skin perform better." Slide 4 – What Makes Shanga Different? On Slide Most brands sell products. Shanga prescribes rituals. What to Say "Most skincare brands are product-focused. They educate therapists on individual products and ingredients. Shanga is different. We begin with the ritual. The ritual creates the outcome. The products simply support the ritual." SECTION 2 THE FOUR SHANGA RITUALS Slide 5 – What Is A Shanga Ritual? On Slide A Ritual Is: ✓ A complete skincare system
✓ Built around a primary concern
✓ Designed to support skin function
✓ Easy to personalise What to Say "At Shanga we don't prescribe products first. We prescribe a ritual. A ritual is a complete skincare pathway designed around a client's primary concern while supporting healthy skin function. Everything else flows from that decision." Slide 6 – The Four Shanga Rituals On Slide Calm & Repair Clarify & Balance Brighten & Glow Renew & Restore What to Say "Every client enters the Shanga system through one of four rituals. These rituals form the foundation of every recommendation." Slide 7 – Calm & Repair On Slide Best For: • Sensitivity
• Redness
• Barrier impairment
• Reactive skin Goal:
Restore comfort and resilience What to Say "Calm & Repair is designed for clients experiencing redness, sensitivity or signs of barrier impairment. The goal is not simply to calm symptoms. The goal is to restore resilience and support healthy skin function." Slide 8 – Clarify & Balance On Slide Best For: • Breakouts
• Congestion
• Excess oil Goal:
Promote clarity while maintaining balance What to Say "Clarify & Balance supports clients experiencing congestion, breakouts or excess oil. Rather than stripping the skin, the ritual focuses on supporting healthy skin function while improving clarity." Slide 9 – Brighten & Glow On Slide Best For: • Pigmentation
• Uneven skin tone
• Dullness Goal:
Improve radiance and clarity What to Say "Brighten & Glow supports clients seeking a brighter, more even complexion while maintaining barrier health and skin resilience." Slide 10 – Renew & Restore On Slide Best For: • Fine lines
• Loss of firmness
• Texture changes
• Ageing concerns Goal:
Support repair and renewal What to Say "Renew & Restore focuses on supporting the skin's natural repair processes while improving visible signs of ageing." Slide 11 – Rituals Are The Foundation On Slide Concern
↓ Ritual
↓ Products What to Say "The ritual is always chosen first. Products are selected because they support the ritual. This keeps prescribing simple, consistent and easy for clients to follow." SECTION 3 THE SHANGA METHOD Slide 12 – The Shanga Ritual Pathway On Slide Every Shanga Ritual follows the same pathway: Cleanse Mist Serum Moisturise Enhance Protect What to Say "One of the reasons therapists and clients love Shanga is its simplicity. Regardless of the ritual selected, the pathway remains the same. The products change. The structure does not." Slide 13 – The Ritual Blueprint On Slide CLEANSE ↓ MIST ↓ SERUM ↓ MOISTURISE ↓ ENHANCE ↓ PROTECT What to Say "Think of this as the Shanga blueprint. Every recommendation starts here." Slide 14 – Step 1: Cleanse On Slide Choose: Calm Cleanser Purify Cleanser Glow Cleanser What to Say "Cleansing prepares the skin for everything that follows. The cleanser selected should support the ritual outcome while maintaining comfort and skin function." Slide 15 – Step 2: Mist On Slide Choose: Repair Mist Antioxidant Mist What to Say "Mists help replenish hydration, improve ingredient absorption and provide additional functional support." Slide 16 – Step 3: Serum On Slide Choose: B-Gentle B-Strong Vibran-C A-New What to Say "The serum is the treatment heart of the ritual. This is where targeted correction occurs." Slide 17 – Step 4: Moisturise On Slide Choose: Hydrate Calm Purify What to Say "Moisturisers help maintain hydration, support barrier function and complete the core ritual." Slide 18 – Step 5: Enhance On Slide Enhancements personalise the ritual. Categories: • Exfoliation
• Masks
• Eye Care
• Facial Oils
• Additional Serums What to Say "Enhancements allow us to personalise recommendations without creating complexity. The ritual remains the foundation." Slide 19 – Step 6: Protect On Slide SPF 30+ Every Morning Every Ritual Every Client What to Say "Protection is the final and non-negotiable step. No corrective skincare program can deliver optimal results without daily UV protection." Slide 20 – Example Ritual Build On Slide Primary Concern:
Redness & Sensitivity Ritual:
Calm & Repair Enhancement:
Soothing Hydrogel Mask What to Say "Notice how the concern determines the ritual. The enhancement personalises the recommendation." Slide 21 – Example Ritual Build On Slide Primary Concern:
Pigmentation Modifier:
Dehydration Ritual:
Brighten & Glow Enhancement:
B-Gentle + Radiance Elixir What to Say "The concern determines the ritual. The modifier determines the enhancement." SECTION 4 THE SHANGA SKIN DIAGNOSIS PYRAMID Slide 22 – The Shanga Skin Diagnosis Pyramid TRAINER SCRIPT Opening (1 minute) "Before we start talking about products or rituals, I want to introduce what I believe is the most important concept in the entire Shanga system. Many skincare consultations fail because therapists focus on what they can see. The client points to a breakout. The client points to pigmentation. The client points to redness. And we immediately start thinking about treatments. But skin is more complex than that. What we see is often only the final expression of something happening deeper within the skin." Point to Top Layer Visible Concerns "Let's start at the top of the pyramid. These are the concerns clients typically come to us with. Acne. Redness. Pigmentation. Ageing. Dullness. These concerns are real and important because they're what the client wants help with. However, they're not the diagnosis. They're the symptom." Pause and Engage Ask the room: "How many of you have treated two clients with acne and found they responded completely differently to the same treatment?" Allow discussion. "Exactly. Because the acne wasn't the actual problem. It was simply the visible outcome." Move to Middle Layer Skin State "This middle layer is where skin therapists become skin experts. Instead of asking: 'What do I see?' We ask: 'What's driving this?' Is the barrier compromised? Is inflammation present? Is oil production dysregulated? Has repair function slowed down? Is cellular turnover sluggish? This is where meaningful treatment decisions are made." Example 1 "Let's take acne. Many therapists automatically think: Acne equals oil. But what if the client is over-exfoliating? What if their barrier is impaired? What if inflammation is the primary issue? Now we're dealing with a completely different skin state. The visible concern hasn't changed. But the treatment approach absolutely should." Key Statement "Symptoms are downstream. Skin function is upstream." Move to Bottom Layer Foundation & Modifiers "This is the layer that is most commonly overlooked. These are the factors influencing every skin condition. Hydration. Lifestyle. Environment. Hormones. Routine habits." Focus on Hydration "I want to spend a moment on hydration because it's one of the biggest misconceptions in skincare. Many people assume oily skin is hydrated. But hydration refers to water. Oil refers to sebum. They are not the same thing. In fact, some of the most dehydrated skins we see are oily and acne-prone." Clinical Example "A client may present with: Excess oil Congestion Tightness after cleansing Many therapists focus on reducing the oil. But if dehydration is the modifier driving the behaviour, stripping the skin often makes the situation worse." Key Statement "Hydration isn't a ritual. Hydration is a requirement for healthy skin function." Transition to Ritual Mapping Point to Ritual Table "Now let's connect this to Shanga rituals. The ritual is chosen based on the primary concern. This keeps the system simple and easy to prescribe." Walk Through Each Ritual "For breakouts and congestion we generally begin with Clarify & Balance. For redness and sensitivity we begin with Calm & Repair. For pigmentation and dullness we begin with Brighten & Glow. For ageing concerns and loss of firmness we begin with Renew & Restore." Important Clarification "However, this does not mean every client receives exactly the same prescription. The ritual is determined by the concern. The products and treatment approach are influenced by the skin state and modifiers we've identified." Real-World Example "Let's look at two clients. Both present with acne. Client A: Oily Congested Thickened skin Strong barrier Client B: Oily Congested Tight after cleansing Red and reactive They may both enter through Clarify & Balance. But the treatment emphasis will be very different. One needs regulation. The other needs restoration." Closing Principle "This pyramid changes how we think about skin. The visible concern guides the ritual. The skin state guides the treatment. The modifiers guide the prescription. When we understand all three layers, we stop chasing symptoms and start supporting skin function." Audience Interaction (2 Minutes) Ask: "A client presents with pigmentation, dehydration and sensitivity. What is the visible concern? What is the skin state? What is the modifier? Which ritual would you start with?" Expected discussion: Visible concern = pigmentation Skin state = sensitivity / barrier impairment Modifier = dehydration Ritual = Brighten & Glow with a strong focus on barrier and hydration support Trainer Cue Before moving to the next slide: "Everything else we discuss today—from ingredients to treatments to retail recommendations—will come back to this pyramid." Key Principle Symptoms are downstream. Skin function is upstream. Slide 23 – Ritual Mapping On Slide Visible Concern ↓ Choose Ritual ↓ Assess Skin State ↓ Identify Modifiers ↓ Personalise What to Say "The concern guides the ritual. The skin state guides treatment. The modifiers guide personalisation." Slide 24 – Ritual Selection Guide On Slide Breakouts → Clarify & Balance Redness → Calm & Repair Pigmentation → Brighten & Glow Ageing → Renew & Restore What to Say "Selecting the correct ritual is simple. The complexity comes from understanding what sits underneath the visible concern." Slide 25 – Why Modifiers Matter On Slide Examples: Dehydration Barrier Impairment Inflammation Lifestyle Factors Environmental Exposure What to Say "Modifiers influence how the skin behaves and how we personalise the ritual." Slide 26 – Example Consultation On Slide Concern:
Pigmentation Skin State:
Sensitive Modifier:
Dehydrated Ritual:
Brighten & Glow Enhancement:
Barrier & Hydration Support What to Say "Two clients may have the same concern but receive different prescriptions because their skin states and modifiers differ." SECTION 5 PERSONALISATION & ENHANCEMENTS Slide 27 – What Are Enhancements? On Slide Enhancements personalise a ritual. They do not replace a ritual. What to Say "The ritual remains the foundation. Enhancements are layered on top to address modifiers and skin state." Slide 28 – Common Enhancement Categories On Slide Exfoliation Masks Eye Care Facial Oils Cross-Ritual Serums What to Say "This is where therapist expertise becomes highly valuable." Slide 29 – Example: Acne + Dehydration On Slide Visible Concern:
Breakouts Modifier:
Dehydration Ritual:
Clarify & Balance Enhancement:
Hydration Support What to Say "Without understanding modifiers we risk treating symptoms rather than supporting skin function." MODULE ASSESSMENT Slide 30 – Knowledge Check On Slide What determines the ritual? What determines treatment focus? Why is dehydration considered a modifier? What is the difference between a ritual and a product recommendation? Why do enhancements exist? Slide 31 – Module 1 Summary On Slide Visible Concern ↓ Choose Ritual ↓ Assess Skin State ↓ Identify Modifiers ↓ Personalise With Enhancements ↓ Results What to Say "If there is one thing to remember from this module, it is that Shanga is not a product-first brand. We begin with the skin. We identify the concern. We select the ritual. We assess skin state and modifiers. We personalise where needed. Only then do we select products. This process creates consistency for therapists and better outcomes for clients." Slide 32 – Module 1 Complete On Slide Congratulations You have completed Module 1 Next Module: Product Training Understanding Products Through Function What to Say "Now that you understand how Shanga thinks, we're ready to explore how each product supports the ritual framework and skin function." SLIDE – THE SHANGA RITUAL MATRIX On Slide Footer Every Ritual Follows The Same Pathway Cleanse → Mist → Serum → Moisturise → Enhance → Protect Enhancements personalise the ritual. They do not replace it. What to Say "This single slide summarises the entire Shanga system. Every client enters through one of four rituals based on their primary concern. Each ritual follows the same pathway:
Cleanse, Mist, Serum, Moisturise, Enhance and Protect. What changes is the combination of products selected within that framework. This consistency makes Shanga easy for therapists to prescribe and easy for clients to follow. It's also important to remember that this matrix represents the core ritual. Personalisation happens through enhancements. For example, two clients may both be prescribed Brighten & Glow, but one may require additional barrier support while another may require more intensive brightening support. The ritual stays the same.
The enhancements change. That's the power of the Shanga Method." SHANGA ACADEMY MODULE 2 Products & Enhancements Question Answered What do I use and why? Learning Outcome By the end of this module therapists will: ✓ Understand every Shanga product ✓ Understand where each product fits within the Shanga Method ✓ Understand the role of cleansers, mists, serums, moisturisers and enhancements ✓ Understand hero ingredients and key benefits ✓ Understand how products support skin function ✓ Understand how products support the Diagnosis Pyramid ✓ Confidently prescribe products within rituals ✓ Personalise rituals using enhancements ✓ Confidently explain products to clients SECTION 1 Understanding Products Slide 1 Products Support Rituals On Slide Products deliver ingredients ↓ Ingredients support functions ↓ Functions create results What To Say "Remember that products are never the starting point in Shanga. We don't begin with products. We begin with the client. The ritual creates the framework. Products support the ritual." Slide 2 Every Product Has A Job On Slide Cleanse Mist Serum Moisturise Enhance Protect What To Say "When you understand the role of each category, product selection becomes much easier. Every product has a purpose within the ritual." SECTION 2 CLEANSERS Slide 3 The Role of Cleansers On Slide Cleanse ≠ Treat Cleanse = Prepare ✓ Remove impurities ✓ Respect the barrier ✓ Maintain comfort ✓ Prepare for treatment What To Say "A cleanser prepares the skin. Transformation doesn't happen during cleansing. Transformation happens because the cleanser creates the ideal foundation for everything that follows." Slide 4 Calm Cleanser Purpose Gentle cleansing for compromised, sensitive or reactive skin. In reality, a moisturiser helps maintain the work performed by every step before it. After cleansing, misting and treatment serums, the moisturiser helps support barrier function, reduce water loss and create the ideal environment for healthy skin function. Think of moisturisers as the product that helps hold everything together." Slide 20 Hydrate Moisturiser Category Moisturiser Purpose Deliver lasting hydration while supporting barrier function and skin comfort. Supports ✓ Hydration Function ✓ Barrier Function ✓ Skin Comfort ✓ Water Retention Pyramid Support Visible Concerns Dullness Dehydration lines Skin States Dehydration Reduced water content Modifiers Air conditioning Travel Climate Lifestyle stress Best For Primary:

Use When ✓ Dehydrated skin ✓ Tightness after cleansing ✓ Fine dehydration lines ✓ Dull, lacklustre skin ✓ Seasonal dryness What To Say "Hydrate is one of the most versatile products in the Shanga range because dehydration can occur in every ritual. A client may have acne, pigmentation, sensitivity or ageing concerns and still require additional hydration support. Hydrate helps maintain optimal water levels while supporting overall skin comfort." Slide 21 Calm Moisturiser Category Moisturiser Purpose Support barrier recovery and reduce visible signs of skin stress. Use When ✓ Redness ✓ Sensitivity ✓ Compromised barrier ✓ Post-treatment support ✓ Reactive skin Use Carefully When ⚠ Very oily clients who prefer lighter textures (Not contraindicated, simply consider client preference.) What To Say "Calm Moisturiser is often thought of as the sensitive skin moisturiser, but its role is much broader. Any skin experiencing barrier stress can benefit from additional barrier support. This includes clients undergoing corrective treatments, using active ingredients or experiencing environmental stress." Slide 22 Purify Moisturiser Category Moisturiser Purpose Balance hydration while supporting skin clarity and comfort. Supports ✓ Oil Balance ✓ Hydration ✓ Barrier Function ✓ Skin Clarity Pyramid Support Visible Concerns Breakouts Congestion Skin States Oil imbalance Modifiers Dehydration Hormonal fluctuations Lifestyle factors Best For Primary:

Therapist Talking Point "Purify Moisturiser helps maintain hydration while supporting a balanced, clarified complexion." Use When ✓ Excess oil ✓ Congestion ✓ Combination skin ✓ Breakout-prone skin Important Teaching Point ✓ Oily skin still requires hydration. ✓ Acne-prone skin still requires moisturisation. What To Say "A common mistake in skincare is assuming oily skin does not need a moisturiser. In reality, many breakout-prone clients are also dehydrated. Purify Moisturiser helps maintain hydration while supporting skin balance and clarity." Slide 23 Choosing The Right Moisturiser On Slide What To Say "Choosing the correct moisturiser should always be guided by skin state, not just visible concern. Remember the diagnosis pyramid. A pigmentation client may require Hydrate. An ageing client may require Calm. A breakout client may require additional hydration support. The visible concern determines the ritual. The skin state helps determine the moisturiser." Slide 24 Moisturiser Prescription Examples Example 1 Primary Concern: Pigmentation Skin State: Dehydration Prescription: Hydrate Moisturiser Example 2 Primary Concern: Ageing Skin State: Barrier Impairment Prescription: Calm Moisturiser Example 3 Primary Concern: Breakouts Skin State: Oil Imbalance + Dehydration Prescription: Purify Moisturiser What To Say "This is where the Shanga Method becomes powerful. The ritual may remain the same, but the moisturiser can be selected based on what the skin actually needs today." SECTION 6 ENHANCEMENTS Slide 24 Enhancements Personalise Rituals Key Statement The ritual remains the foundation. Enhancements provide personalisation. Slide 25 Clarify AHA/BHA Tonic On Slide Purpose Clarify congestion and support skin renewal. Exfoliation Type Chemical Exfoliation AHA + BHA Best For ✓ Congestion ✓ Breakouts ✓ Excess oil ✓ Uneven texture Supports ✓ Cell Turnover ✓ Oil Balance ✓ Skin Clarity Pyramid Support Visible Concerns Breakouts Congestion Skin States Oil imbalance Use Carefully When ⚠ Highly compromised barrier ⚠ Very sensitive skin ⚠ Active irritation Therapist Talking Point "Clarify helps refine pores, support skin renewal and improve clarity while maintaining balance." What To Say "Clarify is ideal when the skin needs assistance with congestion and oil balance. Remember that breakouts alone don't automatically mean this product is appropriate. Always assess barrier function first. If the barrier is compromised, repair may need to come before exfoliation." Slide 26 Reveal Enzyme Tonic On Slide Purpose Gentle enzymatic exfoliation. Exfoliation Type Fruit Enzymes Best For ✓ Sensitive skin ✓ Dull skin ✓ Uneven texture ✓ First-time exfoliation users Supports ✓ Surface renewal ✓ Brightness ✓ Skin smoothness Pyramid Support Visible Concerns Dullness Mild pigmentation Skin States Reduced cell turnover Use Carefully When ⚠ Highly sensitised skin flare-ups Therapist Talking Point "Reveal Enzyme Tonic gently removes dull surface cells to reveal brighter-looking skin." What To Say "Enzymes are often an excellent starting point for clients who are new to exfoliation or who may not tolerate stronger acid-based products. This is one of the easiest exfoliation products to incorporate across multiple rituals." Slide 27 Dual Action Peel On Slide Purpose Professional-strength resurfacing and renewal. Key Actives 10% Lactic Acid Pomegranate Enzyme Papaya Enzyme Exfoliation Type Chemical + Enzymatic Best For ✓ Pigmentation ✓ Ageing concerns ✓ Texture irregularities ✓ Dull skin Supports ✓ Cell Turnover ✓ Brightening ✓ Skin Renewal Pyramid Support Visible Concerns Pigmentation Ageing Dullness Skin States Reduced renewal Use Carefully When ⚠ Barrier impairment ⚠ Active inflammation ⚠ Highly reactive skin Therapist Talking Point "Dual Action Peel combines exfoliation and enzymatic renewal to improve radiance, smoothness and skin vitality." What To Say "This is the most corrective exfoliation option within the Shanga range. Because it combines lactic acid with fruit enzymes, it delivers both resurfacing and brightening benefits. Always assess skin resilience before prescribing." Slide 28 Reveal Face Polish On Slide Purpose Physical exfoliation and skin refinement. Exfoliation Type Physical Polish Best For ✓ Rough texture ✓ Surface dullness ✓ Clients who enjoy a polishing experience Supports ✓ Surface smoothing ✓ Improved radiance ✓ Enhanced product absorption Pyramid Support Visible Concerns Dullness Rough texture Use Carefully When ⚠ Inflamed acne ⚠ Rosacea ⚠ Barrier impairment ⚠ Highly sensitive skin Therapist Talking Point "Reveal Face Polish helps smooth and refine the skin surface while enhancing overall radiance." What To Say "Physical exfoliation can be highly effective when used appropriately. However, it is not suitable for every client. Always consider inflammation, barrier function and sensitivity before recommending a physical exfoliant." Slide 29 Choosing The Right Exfoliation On Slide Ask Yourself: Does the client need... 🔹 Clarification & Oil Balance? → Clarify AHA/BHA Tonic 🔹 Gentle Renewal? → Reveal Enzyme Tonic 🔹 Corrective Resurfacing? → Dual Action Peel 🔹 Surface Refinement? → Reveal Face Polish Pyramid Reminder Concern ≠ Product Selection Always assess: ✓ Barrier Function ✓ Inflammation ✓ Hydration ✓ Skin Resilience Before selecting an exfoliation product. What To Say "One of the biggest mistakes therapists make is selecting exfoliation based purely on the visible concern. A client may present with congestion, pigmentation or ageing, but if barrier function is compromised, exfoliation may not be the first priority. The goal is not to choose the strongest exfoliant. The goal is to choose the most appropriate exfoliant for the skin in front of you." Choosing The Right Exfoliation On Slide Educator Script "There is no best exfoliant. There is only the most appropriate exfoliant for the skin in front of you. The visible concern may guide your thinking, but skin state determines suitability. When in doubt, choose the gentlest option that will still achieve the desired outcome." This creates a much more professional education module because therapists learn how to think about exfoliation, not just memorise four products. Slide 30 Choosing The Right Mask On Slide Key Message Masks enhance the ritual. They do not replace the ritual. Pyramid Support Soothing Hydrogel Mask Supports: Barrier Function Hydration Inflammation Regulation Best For: Calm & Repair Post-treatment skin Dehydrated skin across all rituals Purify Clay Mask Supports: Oil Balance Skin Clarity Congestion Management Best For: Clarify & Balance Oily and combination skin Therapist Talking Point "Masks provide concentrated support based on the skin's immediate needs and can be used to personalise any ritual." What To Say "When selecting a mask, don't focus solely on the visible concern. Consider the skin state underneath. A breakout-prone client may still need hydration support. A combination skin client may benefit from multi-masking, using Purify through the T-zone and Soothing Hydrogel through the cheeks. The goal is always balance." Slide 31 Eye Cream Category Targeted Treatment Enhancement Purpose Firm. Hydrate. Smooth. Renew. Hero Ingredients Retinal Acetyl Hexapeptide-8 Palmitoyl Tripeptide-1 Palmitoyl Tetrapeptide-7 Multi-Weight Hyaluronic Acid Complex Ceramide Complex Niacinamide Desert Lime Centella Asiatica Vitamin C Supports ✓ Repair & Regeneration ✓ Hydration Function ✓ Barrier Function ✓ Skin Firmness ✓ Antioxidant Protection Pyramid Support Visible Concerns Fine lines Loss of firmness Tired-looking eyes Dehydration lines Skin States Reduced repair function Reduced hydration Barrier decline Modifiers Lifestyle stress Ageing Environmental exposure Best For ⭐ Renew & Restore ⭐ Brighten & Glow ⭐ Enhancement across all rituals Hero Outcome A smoother, brighter and more revitalised eye area. Use When ✓ Fine lines ✓ Crepiness ✓ Puffiness ✓ Dehydration ✓ Loss of firmness ✓ Dark circles associated with skin ageing Use Carefully When ⚠ Very sensitive clients new to vitamin A products What To Say "The eye area is one of the first places to show signs of fatigue, dehydration and ageing. This formula combines multiple pathways of support. Peptides help support firmness, retinal encourages renewal, ceramides support barrier function and hyaluronic acid helps maintain hydration. Rather than focusing on one concern, it supports overall eye area health." Slide 32 Radiance Elixir Category Facial Oil Enhancement Purpose Nourish. Protect. Replenish. Illuminate. Hero Ingredients Watermelon Seed Oil Argan Oil Jojoba Oil Macadamia Oil Sea Buckthorn Oil Rosehip Oil Cranberry Seed Oil Calendula Extract Arnica Extract Vitamin E Supports ✓ Barrier Function ✓ Lipid Replenishment ✓ Antioxidant Protection ✓ Skin Comfort ✓ Moisture Retention Pyramid Support Visible Concerns Dullness Dryness Loss of radiance Skin States Lipid deficiency Barrier impairment Environmental stress Modifiers Climate Travel Seasonal dryness Mature skin Best For ⭐ All Rituals Especially: Calm & Repair Renew & Restore Dehydrated skin Hero Outcome Soft, nourished, radiant skin with a healthy glow. Therapist Talking Point "Radiance Elixir replenishes essential lipids while helping support barrier function, comfort and visible luminosity." Use When ✓ Dry skin ✓ Dehydrated skin ✓ Mature skin ✓ Seasonal dryness ✓ Post-treatment recovery ✓ Clients wanting additional glow Use Carefully When ⚠ Very oily clients who dislike facial oils (Preference rather than contraindication.) What To Say "Radiance Elixir is not simply an oil. It is a lipid-support treatment. Many clients have adequate water levels but lack healthy skin lipids. By replenishing these oils, we can improve comfort, radiance and barrier function. This is one of the easiest enhancement products to incorporate across multiple rituals because healthy skin requires both hydration and lipid support." SECTION 7 PROTECT Slide 33 Why Protection Matters On Slide Protect Prevent Preserve What Protection Supports ✓ Prevents premature ageing ✓ Helps reduce pigmentation recurrence ✓ Protects skin barrier function ✓ Defends against environmental stress ✓ Preserves treatment results Key Statement No ritual is complete without daily protection. What To Say "The most effective serum in the world cannot overcome daily UV damage. Protection is not an optional extra. It is a critical part of every ritual and every prescription. If we are helping clients achieve healthier skin, we must also help them protect it." Slide 34 De-Light SPF 30+ Category Daily Protection Purpose Protect, hydrate and support healthy skin function. Hero Ingredients Titanium Dioxide Niacinamide Sodium Hyaluronate Kakadu Plum Seed Oil Saccharide Isomerate Acetyl Hexapeptide-51 Amide Vitamin E Supports ✓ UV Protection ✓ Barrier Function ✓ Hydration ✓ Antioxidant Protection ✓ Healthy Ageing Pyramid Support Visible Concerns Pigmentation Ageing Redness Skin States Barrier support Oxidative stress protection Modifiers Sun exposure Environment Lifestyle Best For ⭐ Every Ritual ⭐ Every Client ⭐ Every Morning Hero Outcome Protected, hydrated and healthy-looking skin. Therapist Talking Point "De-Light provides daily broad-spectrum protection while supporting hydration and overall skin health." What To Say "Notice that De-Light is much more than sunscreen. Alongside UV protection, it includes ingredients that support hydration, antioxidant defence and barrier function. This makes it a true skincare product rather than simply a sunscreen." Slide 35 Protection Beyond SPF On Slide SPF is the foundation. Protection can be layered. Daily Protection Strategy SPF 30+ Hats & Shade Reapplication Mineral Foundation What To Say "Many clients believe applying SPF once in the morning is enough. True protection comes from a combination of strategies. Daily sunscreen, sensible sun behaviour and where appropriate, additional mineral protection." Slide 36 Liquid Mineral Foundation Category Protective Complexion Enhancement Purpose Hydrate, perfect and protect. Hero Ingredients Titanium Dioxide Zinc Oxide Hyaluronic Acid Green Tea Extract Marigold Extract Squalene Allantoin Rice Powder Supports ✓ Additional UV Defence ✓ Hydration ✓ Barrier Support ✓ Environmental Protection ✓ Complexion Perfection Pyramid Support Visible Concerns Redness Pigmentation Uneven Skin Tone Skin States Dehydration Environmental Stress Modifiers Daily UV exposure Lifestyle Climate Best For ⭐ All Rituals ⭐ Daily Wear ⭐ Clients wanting light-medium coverage ⭐ Dry, normal and mature skin Hero Outcome Hydrated, protected skin with a naturally radiant complexion. Therapist Talking Point "Liquid Mineral Foundation combines complexion coverage with skin-supportive ingredients to help protect, hydrate and perfect the skin." What To Say "Unlike traditional foundations that simply provide coverage, Liquid Mineral Foundation contributes to skin support. Hyaluronic acid and glycerin help maintain hydration, while antioxidants and soothing ingredients help support overall skin health. For many clients this becomes an easy daily extension of their skincare ritual." Slide 37 Mineral Foundation Category Protective Mineral Veil Purpose Perfect, absorb excess oil and provide additional environmental protection. Hero Ingredients Titanium Dioxide Zinc Oxide Kaolin Clay Mica Iron Oxides Supports ✓ Additional UV Defence ✓ Oil Balance ✓ Environmental Protection ✓ Skin Confidence Pyramid Support Visible Concerns Redness Pigmentation Uneven Skin Tone Skin States Oil imbalance Combination skin Best For ⭐ All Rituals ⭐ Oily Skin ⭐ Combination Skin ⭐ Post-Treatment Protection Hero Outcome A naturally perfected complexion with a soft-focus finish. Therapist Talking Point "Mineral Foundation helps even skin tone while providing breathable coverage and additional environmental protection." What To Say "Mineral Foundation is particularly useful for clients who prefer a lighter feel or who experience excess oil throughout the day. The mineral pigments provide natural-looking coverage while ingredients such as zinc oxide and titanium dioxide contribute additional protective benefits." Slide 38 Choosing The Right Protection Finish On Slide What To Say "Protection doesn't stop at sunscreen. Many clients are far more compliant when protection is incorporated into their daily makeup routine. Our role is to help clients find the protection strategy they will actually use consistently." Slide 39 The Shanga Protection Philosophy On Slide Protect Preserve Perfect Key Message Every Ritual Ends With Protection. Every Morning Begins With Protection. What To Say "The goal of protection is not simply preventing sunburn. It is preserving barrier health, reducing oxidative stress, helping prevent pigmentation recurrence and supporting healthy ageing. Protection is the final step that helps preserve every result we create." This also has a subtle business benefit: it naturally introduces therapists to the mineral makeup range without suddenly switching into a separate makeup training module. They begin seeing makeup as an extension of skincare, which aligns perfectly with the Shanga philosophy. SECTION 8 CROSS-RITUAL PRESCRIBING SECTION 8 CROSS-RITUAL PRESCRIBING Section Introduction Educator Note This is one of the most important sections in the entire Shanga Academy. Up until now therapists have learned: How to select a ritual What each product does How enhancements work Now they learn how to think like a Shanga therapist. The goal is to move away from: "What ritual does this client fit into?" towards "What does this skin need?" This section reinforces the Diagnosis Pyramid and demonstrates how the Shanga Method allows personalised prescriptions while maintaining a simple ritual structure. Slide 40 SECTION 8 – CASE STUDY 1 Single Concern, Clear Pathway Case Overview • Breakouts
• Congestion
• Excess oil
• No sensitivity
• Strong barrier function Question What is the correct ritual? ⭐ Ritual Clarify & Balance Prescription • Purify Cleanser
• Antioxidant Mist
• B-Strong Serum
• Purify Moisturiser
• SPF Educator Script "This is a straightforward consultation. One dominant concern, stable skin function, clear ritual entry point." Common Therapist Mistakes ❌ Overcomplicating the routine with Calm & Repair “just in case”
❌ Adding unnecessary barrier-focused products when skin is already stable
❌ Assuming all acne requires repair before correction
❌ Overloading with too many enhancements
❌ Ignoring oil regulation because of fear of sensitisation Learning Outcome ✓ Clear concern = clear ritual
✓ Stability allows corrective focus
✓ Avoid over-treatment in healthy skin CASE STUDY 2 Dual Concern (Competing Priorities) Case Overview • Pigmentation
• Dullness
• Mild dehydration
• Occasional sensitivity ⭐ Ritual Brighten & Glow Enhancements • Repair Mist
• B-Gentle
• Hydrate Moisturiser Educator Script "Primary concern still leads, but hydration and sensitivity must be respected in delivery." Common Therapist Mistakes ❌ Switching to Calm & Repair too early and delaying results
❌ Ignoring dehydration because pigmentation is visible
❌ Overusing exfoliation to ‘speed up brightening’
❌ Not supporting barrier before introducing actives
❌ Treating pigmentation aggressively without skin tolerance assessment Learning Outcome ✓ Primary concern leads ritual
✓ Secondary concerns guide safety and tolerance
✓ Support allows better results, not slower results – CASE STUDY 3 Breakouts + Barrier Impairment (Priority Conflict) Case Overview • Breakouts
• Congestion
• Redness
• Tightness after cleansing
• Barrier impairment ⭐ Ritual Options If Breakouts Are Primary: Clarify & Balance If Barrier Impairment Is Primary: Calm & Repair Educator Script "This is a clinical judgement scenario. There is no single correct answer." Common Therapist Mistakes ❌ Defaulting to acne treatment even when barrier is clearly compromised
❌ Treating visible congestion while ignoring inflammation
❌ Being afraid to step back into Calm & Repair
❌ Not reassessing skin state before prescribing
❌ Using exfoliation too early in compromised skin Learning Outcome ✓ Skin state can override concern
✓ Sequencing matters more than speed
✓ Calm must sometimes precede correction – CASE STUDY 4 Multi-System Skin (3 Layer Complexity) Case Overview • Ageing concerns
• Pigmentation
• Dehydration
• Sensitivity after exfoliation
• Texture irregularity ⭐ Ritual Phase 1: Calm & Repair
Phase 2: Renew & Restore / Brighten & Glow Educator Script "This case introduces phased prescribing. You do not treat everything at once." Common Therapist Mistakes ❌ Trying to address pigmentation and ageing immediately
❌ Skipping barrier repair because client wants fast results
❌ Over-layering actives in unstable skin
❌ Not planning a phased treatment pathway
❌ Treating consultations as single-visit solutions Learning Outcome ✓ Complex skin requires sequencing
✓ Phase 1 is function restoration
✓ Phase 2 is correction
✓ Phase 3 is refinement – CASE STUDY 5 Contraindication & Over-Treatment Risk Case Overview • Redness
• Burning sensation
• Recent over-exfoliation
• Sensitivity
• Dehydration
• Client requests strong anti-ageing actives ⭐ Ritual Calm & Repair ONLY Educator Script "Client expectations do not override skin function." Common Therapist Mistakes ❌ Introducing anti-ageing actives too early
❌ Prioritising client request over skin safety
❌ Misinterpreting dehydration as oil imbalance
❌ Attempting correction during active inflammation
❌ Failing to set boundaries around treatment timing Learning Outcome ✓ Safety first prescribing
✓ Barrier recovery is mandatory
✓ “Not yet” is a clinical decision, not a refusal FINAL MODULE 2 CLINICAL PROGRESSION Case Complexity Ladder Single concern → Ritual selection Dual concern → Enhancement layering Conflicting priorities → Clinical judgement Multi-system dysfunction → Phased treatment Contraindications → Clinical restraint WHAT THIS NOW ACHIEVES (IMPORTANT) This upgraded version now trains therapists in: Pattern recognition Prioritisation Clinical reasoning Sequencing Ethical restraint Real-world prescribing mistakes It also quietly removes the biggest industry failure mode: “Choosing products instead of thinking in systems” SECTION 9 MODULE 2 – FINAL SECTION THE SHANGA PRESCRIPTION FLOW Slide 1 – The Shanga Prescription Flow On Slide Concern

SPF What to Say "Everything in Shanga consultation work follows this flow. It is not a checklist. It is a clinical reasoning sequence. We always begin with what the client presents with, then work backwards into skin function before prescribing forward into treatment." Slide 2 – Why This Flow Matters On Slide ✓ Prevents product-led prescribing
✓ Builds clinical consistency
✓ Supports accurate ritual selection
✓ Ensures safe actives use
✓ Improves long-term skin outcomes What to Say "This flow prevents one of the most common industry mistakes—starting with products instead of skin function. It ensures every decision is intentional, structured and clinically justified." Slide 3 – Ritual Is The Decision Point On Slide Concern → Guides direction
Skin State → Refines understanding
Modifiers → Adjust prescription
Ritual → FINAL clinical decision What to Say "The ritual is the most important decision point in the entire system. Everything before it is assessment. Everything after it is execution." Slide 4 – Products Come After Ritual On Slide Ritual first
Products second What to Say "Products do not define the treatment. They support the ritual that has already been selected." Slide 5 – Enhancements Personalise The Outcome On Slide Enhancements: • Refine results
• Address modifiers
• Support tolerance
• Improve outcomes What to Say "Enhancements are not optional extras. They are how we adapt the ritual to the individual skin in front of us." Slide 6 – SPF Is Non-Negotiable On Slide SPF 30+ Every client
Every ritual
Every day What to Say "No matter the ritual or concern, protection is always required. Without it, no corrective work is sustainable." MODULE 2 SUMMARY Slide 7 – Module Summary On Slide Remember: Ritual First

Enhancements Personalise
Skin Function Guides Everything What to Say "If you take only one thing from this module, let it be this: Shanga is not a product system. It is a skin function system. Once you understand the ritual, product selection becomes logical rather than overwhelming." Slide 8 – Final Educator Statement On Slide Master the ritual.
The skin will guide the rest. What to Say "When therapists understand the ritual, product choice becomes obvious. Every product has a role. Every enhancement has a purpose. And every prescription begins with understanding the skin in front of you." RECOMMENDATION (IMPORTANT STRUCTURAL NOTE) Do NOT repeat this flow earlier in Module 2. This slide works best as: A capstone integration moment A bridge into Module 3 (consultation practice / live prescribing) A reference slide in assessments It should feel like the point where: “everything clicks into place” If you want next refinement, the natural evolution after this is: MODULE 3 DESIGN UPGRADE Turn it into: Live consultations Timed case prescriptions Therapist roleplay scenarios Pass/fail clinical grading SHANGA ACADEMY MODULE 3 – SKIN SCIENCE & FUNCTIONAL SKIN HEALTH MODULE QUESTION Why do products work? LEARNING OUTCOMES By the end of this module therapists will be able to: ✓ Understand skin through functional pathways
✓ Identify what function is disrupted from visible symptoms
✓ Link skin behaviour to underlying biology
✓ Understand structure as a support system (not memorisation)
✓ Confidently explain why products work in clinical language SECTION 1 – THE SHANGA APPROACH TO SKIN Slide 1 – Why This Module Exists On Slide We do not start with skin structure.
We start with skin function. What to Say "Traditional skincare education starts with anatomy. At Shanga, we reverse this. We begin with what skin does, because that is what clients actually experience." Slide 2 – The Clinical Shift On Slide ❌ What is skin made of?
✅ What is skin doing? What to Say "This shift is what transforms product knowledge into clinical thinking." SECTION 2 – THE FIVE FUNCTIONAL PATHWAYS Slide 3 – The Five Functional Pathways On Slide Barrier Function Hydration Function Immune & Inflammatory Function Repair & Regeneration Oxidative Stress Protection What to Say "Every skin concern can be traced back to one or more of these five systems." Slide 4 – Barrier Function On Slide Protects skin + prevents water loss When impaired: • Redness
• Sensitivity
• Tightness
• Reactivity Slide 5 – Hydration Function On Slide Maintains water content in skin When impaired: • Dullness
• Tightness
• Dehydration lines
• Oil imbalance Slide 6 – Immune & Inflammatory Function On Slide Controls skin defence responses When impaired: • Redness
• Breakouts
• Sensitivity
• Reactivity Slide 7 – Repair & Regeneration On Slide Supports renewal and structural integrity When impaired: • Fine lines
• Loss of firmness
• Slow healing
• Texture changes Slide 8 – Oxidative Stress Protection On Slide Defends against environmental damage When impaired: • Pigmentation
• Premature ageing
• Dullness SECTION 3 – FUNCTION → SKIN BEHAVIOUR Slide 9 – How Dysfunction Appears On Slide Function failure = visible skin behaviour Examples: Barrier → redness, sensitivity
Hydration → dullness, tightness
Inflammation → breakouts, reactivity
Repair → ageing, slow healing
Oxidative stress → pigmentation What to Say "Symptoms are not the problem. They are the output of a deeper function." SECTION 4 – FUNCTIONAL THINKING MODEL Slide 10 – Clinical Decision Model On Slide Visible Concern
↓
Skin Function
↓
Treatment Direction What to Say "We always move from what we see → to what is happening → to what we do." SECTION 5 – STRUCTURE (ONLY AFTER FUNCTION) Slide 11 – Why Structure Exists On Slide Structure supports function. What to Say "We only introduce structure once function is understood." Slide 12 – Skin Structures (Functional Mapping) On Slide Corneocytes → barrier protection
Lipid Matrix → hydration retention
Tight Junctions → barrier cohesion
Langerhans Cells → immune defence
Cytokines → inflammatory signalling
Fibroblasts → repair & collagen
Melanocytes → pigmentation control What to Say "Structures are not separate systems. They are the machinery that enables function." SECTION 6 – IMMUNE & INFLAMMATORY SYSTEM (DEEPER UNDERSTANDING) Slide 13 – Langerhans Cells On Slide Immune sentinels of the skin Function: Detect threats and activate immune response Overactive result: • Sensitivity
• Redness
• Reactivity Slide 14 – Cytokines On Slide Chemical messengers of inflammation Function: Control intensity and duration of immune response When dysregulated: • Chronic redness
• Persistent inflammation
• Delayed healing Slide 15 – Key Insight On Slide Inflammation is communication, not damage What to Say "Many skin concerns are communication imbalances, not infections or defects." SECTION 7 – WHY PRODUCTS WORK Slide 16 – Product Logic On Slide Products support function. Function restores skin balance. What to Say "Products do not treat skin conditions directly. They support the biological systems that restore balance." Slide 17 – Functional Product Principle On Slide Barrier → Calm & Repair
Hydration → All rituals
Inflammation → Calm / Clarify
Repair → Renew & Restore
Oxidative stress → Brighten & Glow SECTION 8 – FUNCTION → RITUAL CONNECTION Slide 18 – Ritual Logic On Slide Function determines ritual. What to Say "Rituals are structured expressions of function." Slide 19 – Example Mapping Barrier dysfunction → Calm & Repair
Inflammation → Clarify & Balance
Pigmentation → Brighten & Glow
Ageing → Renew & Restore SECTION 9 – INTEGRATION CHECKPOINT Slide 20 – The Clinical Leap On Slide Function → Behaviour → Product → Result What to Say "This is the full clinical thinking loop." SECTION 10 – MINI CASE APPLICATION Slide 21 – Case 1 Redness + sensitivity
→ Barrier dysfunction Slide 22 – Case 2 Breakouts + oiliness
→ Inflammatory imbalance Slide 23 – Case 3 Pigmentation + dullness
→ Oxidative stress + repair slowdown SECTION 11 – MODULE SUMMARY Slide 24 – Key Takeaways On Slide ✓ Function explains skin behaviour
✓ Symptoms are outputs, not causes
✓ Structure supports function
✓ Products support biological systems
✓ Rituals organise treatment Slide 25 – Final Educator Statement On Slide Understand function.
Read skin behaviour.
Prescribe with clarity. What to Say "When therapists understand function, everything else becomes logical. Products stop being memorised. And start being understood." FINAL NOTE (IMPORTANT DESIGN DIRECTION) This module should be visually consistent: Function = clean, conceptual, minimal visuals Structure = secondary, grey/indented format Product mapping = structured tables, not paragraphs Cases = visually distinct “clinical cards” Module 4 Consultation & Prescription Now therapists know: How Shanga thinks What products do Why products work So they can confidently prescribe. Cover: Consultation framework Asking the right questions Identifying modifiers Building rituals Cross-ritual prescribing Managing budgets Module 5 Treatment Protocols Express Ritual Facial Signature Ritual Facial Corrective Ritual Facial Treatment enhancements Mask application Exfoliation protocols Module 6 Retail & Client Retention Prescription language Rebooking Review consultations Progression plans Introducing enhancements Upgrading rituals One Additional Module I Would Add Between Products and Skin Science: Module 2.5 Ingredient Storytelling Very short (15-20 mins). Not ingredient chemistry. Just: This becomes the bridge between products and skin science. So the final Shanga Academy structure would be: Module 1 The Shanga Method Module 2 Products & Enhancements Module 2.5 Ingredient Storytelling Module 3 Skin Science & Functional Skin Health Module 4 Consultation & Prescription Module 5 Treatment Protocols Module 6 Retail, Rebooking & Client Retention That sequence follows the natural way therapists learn: Brand → Method → Products → Ingredients → Skin Science → Consultation → Treatment → Business Growth and gives much higher completion and retention rates for online education than starting with heavy science. I love this! I love it too because it solves the biggest problem most professional skincare brands have: They teach products before they teach thinking. What you've built is actually a progression from: "Memorise products" to "Understand skin." And that is exactly what elevates therapists from retail assistants to skin therapists. SHANGA ACADEMY Module 1 The Shanga Method Question answered: How does Shanga think? Topics: Brand Story Philosophy Why Rituals The Shanga Method Ritual Pathway Diagnosis Pyramid Ritual Selection Outcome:
Therapists understand the Shanga framework. Module 2 Products & Enhancements Question answered: What do I use? Topics: Cleanser Training Mist Training Serum Training Moisturiser Training SPF Radiance Elixir Exfoliants Masks Cross-Ritual Enhancements Outcome:
Therapists understand every product. Module 2.5 Ingredient Storytelling Question answered: How do I explain products? Topics: Niacinamide Panthenol Beta-Glucan Hyaluronic Acid Vitamin C Peptides CoQ10 Enzymes Lactic Acid Not chemistry. Not percentages. Just: What it does Why it matters How to explain it Outcome:
Therapists become confident communicators. Module 3 Skin Science & Functional Skin Health Question answered: Why do products work? Topics: Barrier Function Hydration Function Immune & Inflammatory Function Repair & Regeneration Oxidative Stress Protection Then: Skin Structures Corneocytes Lipid Matrix Tight Junctions Langerhans Cells Fibroblasts Melanocytes Only introduced once therapists understand function. Outcome:
Therapists understand skin biology without becoming overwhelmed. Slide 4 – The Consultation Mindset On Slide Listen → Interpret → Confirm → Prescribe What to Say "Good consultations are not about talking more. They are about interpreting what the skin is telling you." SECTION 3 – ASKING THE RIGHT QUESTIONS Slide 5 – What We Are Listening For On Slide • Primary concern
• Skin behaviour changes
• Product reactions
• Lifestyle influences
• Barrier tolerance What to Say "Every answer tells you something about function." Slide 6 – High-Value Consultation Questions On Slide • How does your skin feel after cleansing?
• What products have caused reactions?
• Does your skin fluctuate during the month?
• Do you feel tightness or oiliness?
• How quickly does your skin recover? What to Say "We are not collecting product history. We are reading skin behaviour patterns." SECTION 4 – IDENTIFYING MODIFIERS Slide 7 – What Are Modifiers? On Slide Modifiers influence skin behaviour. They are not the concern. What to Say "Modifiers explain why the skin behaves the way it does." Slide 8 – Key Modifiers On Slide • Dehydration
• Barrier impairment
• Inflammation
• Lifestyle stress
• Environmental exposure
• Hormonal fluctuation Slide 9 – Clinical Insight On Slide Same concern ≠ same prescription What to Say "Two clients with acne can require completely different rituals based on modifiers." SECTION 5 – BUILDING THE RITUAL Slide 10 – Ritual Selection Logic On Slide Concern → Ritual What to Say "The ritual is your starting point, not your final answer." Slide 11 – Ritual Mapping On Slide Breakouts → Clarify & Balance

Together they create the complete Shanga client journey. When treatments and rituals work together, results become predictable, sustainable and meaningful." 🧠 Advanced Training Layer (Therapist Progression) 🟢 Core Level (must master first) Focus: ritual confidence + skin reading Calm & Repair → B-Gentle Clarify & Balance → B-Strong Bright & Glow → Vibran-C Renew & Restore → A-NEW 👉 Outcome: therapists prescribe by skin state, not actives 🟡 Intermediate Level Focus: mechanism awareness without deep biochemistry hydration vs barrier vs oil vs renewal pathways when to escalate from B-Gentle → Restore-type support logic (if reintroduced later) safe layering rules contraindications (retinal vs acids, etc.) 👉 Outcome: “why it works” without needing molecular detail 🔴 Advanced Level (your pigment + actives science layer) Focus: biological pathways This is where your current thinking belongs: melanin formation control (Vibran-C logic) pigment transfer inhibition (B-Strong logic) epidermal turnover correction (A-NEW logic) 👉 Outcome: therapists can explain mechanisms to clients confidently and justify protocols clinically 🧠 Why this sequencing is important If you introduce advanced pigment science too early, you get: over-prescribing of actives ritual dilution (“everything for everyone” thinking) loss of system clarity But if introduced correctly later, it becomes: a confidence amplifier, not a complexity burden 💡 Key strategic insight Your system is actually: a language progression system, not just a product system Core = “what do I use?” Intermediate = “when do I use it?” Advanced = “why does it work biologically?” That is exactly how high-end derm or medical-aesthetic education systems are structured. 🧾 Recommendation ✔ Keep pigment pathway science in Advanced Training only
✔ Keep rituals as the front-end decision system
✔ Keep actives simplified at retail/salon floor level If you want, I can help you map: a full 3-level therapist certification structure (Level 1–3) or turn this into a training curriculum outline with modules and assessments That would lock in consistency across every future product launch. Advanced training. Pigment pathways. glycation, fibroblast activation etc Yes—this is exactly where an advanced layer should sit, but it needs to be structured carefully so it stays clinically coherent rather than becoming a loose collection of biological terms. If you’re building an “Advanced Training: Skin Pathways” module, the goal isn’t to make therapists sound scientific—it’s to help them map visible skin signs to underlying biological drivers in a way that improves prescribing accuracy. Here’s a clean way to structure it. 🧠 ADVANCED TRAINING: SKIN PATHWAYS (FRAMEWORK) 1. Pigment Pathway (Dyschromia System) Visible signs: sun spots PIH (post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation) uneven tone Biological layers: Melanogenesis (melanin production) Melanosome transfer (distribution) Epidermal turnover (clearance) Your system mapping: Vibran-C → oxidative melanin control B-Strong → melanosome transfer regulation A-NEW → epidermal turnover acceleration 👉 Core idea: pigmentation is a 3-stage flow problem, not a single process 2. Glycation Pathway (Structural Ageing System) Visible signs: dull, yellowed tone loss of elasticity “stiff” or crepey texture deepening lines Biological layers: glucose binding to collagen/elastin → AGEs (Advanced Glycation End-products) collagen stiffening reduced skin flexibility increased oxidative stress Intervention logic (your system framing): Antioxidants (Vibran-C) → reduce glycation trigger environment Niacinamide (B-Strong) → improves barrier + reduces inflammation load Retinal (A-NEW) → increases collagen turnover and replacement 👉 Core idea: glycation is “sugar-driven structural stiffening of the dermis” 3. Fibroblast Activity Pathway (Regeneration System) Visible signs: fine lines loss of firmness slowed healing thin skin quality Biological layers: fibroblasts produce: collagen elastin extracellular matrix (ECM) activity declines with age + inflammation + UV exposure Your system mapping: A-NEW (retinal) → primary fibroblast activation signal Vibran-C → protects fibroblasts from oxidative suppression Barrier support (B-Gentle / Restore concept if used) → reduces chronic inflammation that suppresses fibroblasts 👉 Core idea: fibroblasts don’t “age” first—they become suppressed 4. Barrier-Inflammation Pathway (Sensitivity System) Visible signs: redness stinging dehydration + oil imbalance reactive breakouts Biological layers: disrupted stratum corneum lipids increased TEWL inflammatory cytokine cascade microbiome imbalance Your system mapping: B-Gentle → hydration + inflammation downshift B-Strong → oil regulation + inflammatory acne cycle control A-NEW → normalises differentiation over time (long-term stabilisation) 👉 Core idea: inflammation is the “root amplifier” of most visible skin conditions 🧠 HOW TO TEACH THIS (IMPORTANT) This should NOT be taught as biology memorisation. Instead, therapists learn: Step 1: Identify visible pattern pigment redness dullness laxity Step 2: Map to pathway pigment pathway glycation pathway fibroblast pathway barrier pathway Step 3: Assign ritual system Calm & Repair Clarify & Balance Bright & Glow Renew & Restore ⚠️ CRITICAL DESIGN PRINCIPLE Advanced training must always reinforce: “Pathways explain why, rituals determine what, serums deliver how” If that hierarchy breaks, therapists start overcomplicating prescriptions. 💡 WHERE YOUR CURRENT THINKING IS STRONG You are already correctly identifying: pigmentation is multi-step ageing is structural (fibroblast + glycation) actives map to biological mechanisms That is exactly how advanced derm education is structured. 🧾 FINAL STRUCTURE SUMMARY Core Layer (Retail/Skin logic) Rituals + serums Intermediate Layer (Therapist competence) when to use what Advanced Layer (this module) pigment pathways glycation pathways fibroblast activity inflammation/barrier biology If you want next step, I can turn this into a full training manual module (with diagrams, case studies, and assessment questions for certification Level 3) so it becomes usable in real therapist education, not just theory. Turn this into a full training manual module with diagrams, case studies, and assessment questions for certification Level 3 🧠 SHANGA ADVANCED TRAINING LEVEL 3 CERTIFICATION MODULE Skin Pathways + TheraHealth Integrated Biological System 🎓 MODULE PURPOSE This module trains therapists to move from surface skincare thinking into full pathway-based biological prescribing, combining: 🧴 Shanga External Ritual System (skin-level correction) 💊 TheraHealth Internal Support System (systemic pathway modulation) Together, they form a dual-layer clinical framework for advanced skin outcomes. ⚠️ CORE TRAINING PRINCIPLE “Skin conditions are not treated.
