cleanse
Step 1
Salicylic acid is an anti-inflammatory ingredient that can cut through sebum, enter pores, and clear blackheads. These qualities make salicylic acid one of the best ingredients for oily or sensitive skin with acne or rosacea. Its low pH gently exfoliates your skin and helps other skin care products in your regimen absorb into the skin, making them more effective. Depending on your Baumann Skin Type, it may be best to use a salicylic acid cleanser only once a day as the first step in your morning skin care routine.
Acne Treatment
Step 2
Acne treatments contain ingredients such as salicylic acid, benzoyl peroxide, silver, and others to improve and prevent acne and clogged pores.

Light moisturiser
Step 4
These light moisturizers are noncomedogenic, meaning they won’t clog your pores, and contain antioxidant ingredients to help improve signs of skin aging. These moisturizers are best for oily skin types.
SPF
step 5
Zinc oxide and iron oxide are the active sunscreen ingredients in physical SPFs. These sunscreens are noncomedogenic, meaning they will not clog your pores, and they do not contain parabens, phthalates, or chemical ingredients.
cleanser
step 1
Foaming cleansers are face washes that remove oil from your skin’s surface and give you a fresh, squeaky-clean feeling. Foaming cleansers won’t clog pores and are ideal for oily and acne-prone skin types. They are also the best cleansers to remove makeup and sunscreen. These cleansers are usually gel cleansers that vary from mild foaming to very foamy. If used once a day, foaming cleansers should be used as the first step in your evening skin care regimen. Dry skin types should use nonfoaming cleansers instead of foaming cleansers.

Low Strength retinol
step 4
Low-strength retinoid products contain 0.025% tretinoin equivalent strength or less, thus minimizing common side effects such as dryness and flaking. Low-strength retinoids can be good options for certain dry or sensitive skin types.

THE SYMPTOMS OF SKIN TYPE 2
HARSH PRODUCTS MAKE SKIN TIGHT, IRRITATED, OR SENSITIVE
Naturally, harsh products can cause tightness, but this is someone that feels like they get tight skin easily and they have to be careful about what products they use because products have left their skin irritated and tight in the past.
NEEDS HYDRATION WITHOUT HEAVY OILS
This is someone who has to be careful with what they use due to a history of more breakouts in the past. You may be having fewer breakouts now, but you still have to be mindful of what you use on your skin because you continue to get some clogged pores.
MAY GET OCCASIONAL BREAKOUTS
You’re someone who gets breakouts occasionally, with “occasionally” meaning 1 or 2 breakouts a week but sometimes you can go several weeks without one or, if you’re a female, you may only get them once a month during your cycle. Essentially, you get breakouts occasionally or once in a while, but it’s not consistent or excessive.
POST-BLEMISH DARK MARKS
Whenever you do get a blemish, you also get post-blemish dark or red marks that linger for a while. These aren’t from picking or new blemishes, because obviously you don’t want to pick at them and make them worse, but just lingering marks.
WANTS TO KEEP SKIN HEALTHY AND SMOOTH, CONCERNED ABOUT AGEING
You want to keep your skin healthy and smooth, but you’re also concerned about ageing. You might still get breakouts now and again, but you’re starting to think about preventative measures and creating an environment in the skin where it can age gracefully.
MAY HAVE HYPERPIGMENTATION
You may have hyperpigmentation as it relates to brown spots, or you may be genetically more prone to getting brown spots and freckles. You don’t have to have hyperpigmentation to be a Skin Type 2, but if you do, you could be.
20 TO 35 YEARS OLD
Most Skin Type 2s are between the ages of 20 and 35 because you still produce oil and get occasional breakouts. This is not a hard and fast rule but is what we typically see as far as age range goes.
