Before Treatment

The area to be treated will be cleansed, sanitised and anaesthetic cream applied to numb the area. We recommend having LED light therapy leading up to the treatment which contributes to the healing response.

During Treatment

The hand held plasma tool produces a tiny flash of Plasma “lightening” which vaporises away a “full stop” size dot of skin to a superficial depth. This stimulates the skin to contract creating the tightening effect and initiate the natural healing process resulting in new tighter skin being produced.

After Treatment

With eye lid lift / eye bag reduction treatment you can expect swelling which can last 48 hours, this is a natural response. The application of recommended soothing post treatment creams and SPF is recommended.

HOW DOES PLASMALIFT WORK?
This innovative technology utilises plasma – formed through ionisation of atmospheric gasses being nitrogen and oxygen – to stimulate instant contraction and tightening of skin fibres.

Its holistic approach works by stimulating the contraction of skin fibres instantly through a so-called ‘plasma flash’. This flash is created by a conversion of electrical energy into electrostatic energy which is then transmitted to the probe and evaporates superficially 1mm from the skin at a tiny point.

The probe never touches the skin. The plasma flash or arc creates tiny carbon crusts which look like freckles and fall off around days 4-7 leaving tightened, fresh and rejuvenated skin

ARE THERE ANY SIDE EFFECTS FROM PLASMALIFT?
Treatments can cause an instant effect on your clients and may include redness and swelling of the area treated for up to 2-3 days. Side effects vary from client to client. The healing process will include crusting (which should be left to fall away naturally) over the course of about a week.

Treatments can sometimes lead to more prolonged redness and swelling, while the skin recovers, this is more likely when the eye lids or areas close to the eye are treated. It can take up to 7 to 10 days to fully recover for some individuals.

Makeup can be applied as cover where needed but should not be applied for 24hrs after the treatment. The results are instant and improve over the next 2-4 weeks.

AM I A GOOD CANDIDATE FOR PLASMALIFT?
PlasmaLIFT is a very safe non-surgical treatment and safe for most people in the treatment of fine lines, wrinkles, scarring stretch marks, loose skin and more. You may not be a good candidate for PlasmaLIFT for the following reasons:

if you have diabetes, autoimmune disorder, or history of cold sores
if you have a pacemaker
If you have epilepsy
if you are on Accutane or have been on Accutane in the last year
if you have a history of keloid scar formation or poor wound healing
if you have allergies to Lidocaine or Tetracaine
if you are pregnant or breastfeeding

HOW DO I PREPARE FOR MY PLASMALIFT TREATMENT?

It is a requirement by law that you bring your own numbing cream to your treatment. Order your numbing cream NOW from your pharmacist or compounding pharmacy, and bring it to your appointment.
Complete your consultation form PRIOR to the day of your treatment. This will be emailed/sms'd to you in advance.
If you wish on the day of your treatment and the following day, you may take a non-drowsy anti-histamine tablet. This will help to reduce swelling.
Do not have injectables in the 2 weeks prior to your treatment, or 2 weeks after.
Avoid alcohol the day before and on the day of treatment.
Ensure you arrive 15 minutes prior to your treatment to complete your treatment forms and for application of your numbing cream.

POST-TREATMENT GUIDELINES

Your specialist will discuss with you after-care guidelines thoroughly at your appointment.
You must ONLY use aftercare as prescribed by your specialist post treatment. This includes the REDuce treatment serum (not included in price of treatment).

Avoid alcohol for 24 hours post-treatment.
Ice packs may be used to aid in the cooling of treated areas.

Do not touch the treated area.
Do not pick or scratch at the crusts on your skin.
Some people feel some heat-related discomfort during the treatment. This discomfort is usually temporary during the procedure and localised within the treatment area.

Plasma treatments will cause varying degrees of redness and swelling in the treatment area. These common side effects vary in severity and duration from patient to patient.

Itching can sometimes occur as part of the normal wound healing process or may occur as part of infection, poor wound healing or contact dermatitis.

A flare-up of acne or formation of milia, tiny white bumps or small cysts on the skin, may occur. These symptoms usually resolve completely. Although not necessary, on occasion a series of prophylaxis antibiotics may be prescribed by your Doctor.

During the healing phase, the treated area may appear to be darker. This is called PIH, post inflammatory hyperpigmentation. PIH occurs as a part of the normal skin reaction to injury. This pigmentation usually fades in 3 to 6 months.

In some patients who experience pigment changes, the treated area loses pigmentation and becomes a lighter colour than the surrounding skin. This type of reaction can sometimes be permanent.

PlasmaLIFT may cause pin point bleeding and/or oozing. Crusting or scabbing may form after the drying of clear fluid or blood. These reactions are rare and should be reported to the clinic for additional post care instructions.

Heating in the upper layers of the skin may occasionally cause blisters or burns and subsequent scab formation. The blisters usually disappear within 2-4 days. A scab may be present after a blister forms, but typically will disappear during the natural wound healing process of the skin.

Scarring is a possibility due to the disruption to the skin’s surface and/or abnormal healing. Scars, which can be permanent, may be raised or depressed, and scarring could lead to loss of pigment or hypo-pigmentation in the scarred area.

It is very important to be consistent with sun protection. For your safety you should avoid sunbathing and solariums for at least 3 months, as hyper or hypo-pigmentation can occur.

Enjoy your fresh, new, rejuvenated and tighten skin!
