Cleanse
Step 1
Salicylic acid is an anti-inflammatory ingredient that can cut through sebum, enter pores, and clear blackheads. These qualities make salicylic acid one of the best ingredients for oily or sensitive skin with acne or rosacea. Its low pH gently exfoliates your skin and helps other skin care products in your regimen absorb into the skin, making them more effective. Depending on your Skin Type, it may be best to use a salicylic acid cleanser only once a day as the first step in your morning skin care routine.

These cleansers are usually gel cleansers that vary from mild foaming to very foamy. If used once a day, foaming cleansers should be used as the first step in your evening skin care regimen. THE SYMPTOMS OF SKIN TYPE 4
ENLARGED PORES AND OILY SKIN IN T-ZONE
If you are someone that gets shiny throughout the day in the T-Zone (forehead, nose, and chin) but has less oiliness, or even dryness, on the cheeks, you might be a Skin Type 4.
BREAKS OUT FROM HEAVY OILS AND PORE CLOGGING INGREDIENTS
You’re somebody who has to be very careful with what you use on your skin because of the risk of clogged pores and breakouts.
CONCERNED ABOUT AGEING, WANTS TO KEEP SKIN HEALTHY AND SMOOTH
Yes, you want to address breakouts and keep the skin clear, but you’re also somebody that is concerned about ageing and wants to do everything you can to make sure fewer wrinkles are likely to occur down the road.
OCCASIONAL BLEMISHES AND CYSTS
This is an important identifier when it comes to Skin Type 4 because it’s important to understand we are talking about occasional blemishes, not consistent or excessive breakouts. Occasional, in this case, means anywhere from less than one blemish per month to maybe one a week. If you are getting more frequent breakouts, you are probably not a Skin Type 4.
That doesn’t mean you might not go through a period of time where you do get more breakouts, we are just talking about an average here.
LINGERING POST-BLEMISH DARK MARKS
Anyone who gets breakouts, regardless of their skin type, will have a dark or red mark leftover after a blemish. Our Skin Type 4 routines address that and helps get them to go away faster.
MAY GET CLOGGED PORES AND BLACKHEADS
Skin type 4 is more prone to getting clogged pores, blackheads and bumps, specifically in the T-zone area where you typically produce the most oil.
CONCERNED ABOUT AGEING, WANTS TO KEEP SKIN HEALTHY AND SMOOTH

TEENS & ADULTS UP TO 35 YEARS OLD
The typical age range for Skin Type 4 is between the teen years and 35 years old, since breakouts typically taper off after age 35. Breakouts are still possible outside of this age range, this is just typically what we see.
