Turn Back time.
Between the sun, harsh chemicals, pollution, and ageing, our skin can become dull and wrinkled (two of our least favorite words). Thankfully, with BroadBand Light Therapy, you don’t have to be stuck with skin issues. Think of BBL as a multi-tasker—from age spots to sun damage—it can pretty much tackle it all.
BBL is the next generation of Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) therapy. The treatment uses short blasts of high-intensity light to produce younger-looking skin that’s firmer and more even in tone and texture. With little recovery time and no surgery, you’re going to start wondering if this anti-ageing, skin rejuvenating, sun damage-reversing treatment is magic. (It’s not, it’s just science.)

What to Expect
THE FIRST STEP IS YOUR FREE CONSULTATION.
During your consultation, a treatment provider will carefully examine your face, neck, chest, and hands to check for the kind of sun damage, vascular issues, and pigment irregularities that can be helped with BBL.
Before Treatment
You’ll be asked to stay out of sunlight before getting the treatment done.
If you’ve tanned recently, we’ll ask you to wait a while before coming in for treatments.
We’ll ask you to avoid medications that make you more sensitive to light, but always consult your doctor before stopping prescribed medications.
During Treatment
Treatments are quick and usually take about 30-60 minutes.
During the treatment, your skin may appear slightly red and swollen. This is a normal reaction.
You might feel a slight warming of the skin and mild discomfort during treatment.
After Treatment
You’ll be asked to avoid scented lotions, exfoliants, and aggressive scrubbing.
It’s normal for freckles and sunspots to initially get darker and they usually flake off within one to three weeks.
You might feel something like a sunburn after the treatment, but an ice pack should help.

Frequently Asked Questions
WHAT IS BROAD BAND LIGHT?
BroadBand Light therapy is a skin treatment that can reduce the appearance of damage and subtract years from your complexion. BBL, also known as Intense Pulsed Light therapy or the photo facial, uses cutting edge technology to produce younger-looking skin that’s firmer and more even in tone and texture. With little recovery time and no surgery, BBL offers a safe, FDA-cleared option for sun damage, anti-ageing, and skin rejuvenation.
HOW DOES BBL WORK?
The light energy delivered by the BBL will gently heat the upper layers of your skin. The heat absorbed by the targeted areas will stimulate your skin cells to regenerate new collagen. This process will restore your skin to its natural beauty, blending its natural colours and making it smoother, vibrant and younger-looking. In addition, the photothermal energy eliminates the fine vessels that cause redness and reduces the unwanted melanin that produces pigmented lesions. The BBL machine is equipped with advanced cooling features, allowing the use of high-powered energy with minimal discomfort. BBL is a safe, effective approach to younger-looking skin. It is recommended that individuals undergo treatment two to four times per year for optimal results.
WHAT AREAS ARE TREATED WITH BBL?
We treat the face, chest and back of the hands. That’s because these areas are most often exposed to sunlight and its damaging effects.
WHY SHOULD I GET BBL?
Your face is one of the main areas of your body that immediately gives away your age. Years of unprotected sun exposure, harsh chemicals, and the process of ageing can do a number on your skin, making it look dull and wrinkled. BBL helps reverse the signs of ageing by minimising sun spots, sun damage, and more.
WHAT DOES BBL FEEL LIKE?
The procedure is gentle, non-invasive, and safe. While everyone’s tolerance is different, there is usually no need for a topical anaesthetic.
HOW DO I PREPARE FOR A BBL TREATMENT?
You should avoid direct sunlight or spray tanning. After first consulting with your doctor, you should refrain from using certain medications that make you more sensitive to light. During the initial consultation, we’ll carefully review all of the information you need to ensure a comfortable, effective procedure.
HOW MANY TREATMENTS WILL I NEED?
The number of treatments will depend on your skin and your desired results. We’ll personalise a treatment plan tailored to you and your wants. Your therapist may also suggest combining your BBL treatment with other popular aesthetic procedures, such as AlphaShape or Skin Needling, to further personalise your treatment and help you achieve the look you desire.
WHAT CAN I EXPECT AFTER BBL?
Immediately following treatment, you can expect to see mild redness, and it may feel like a slight sunburn in the treated area. This should dissipate after a few hours, but in some cases, it could last a day or two. You can start to see healthier looking skin just several days after treatment. Sun spots, age spots, and or broken blood vessels usually begin to clear up in one to two weeks.
