The Eyes Have It

The Eyes Have It

How do we tell the age of a face? Invariably we look around a person’s eyes. We may see crow’s feet, puffy eyes, dark circles under eyes or wrinkles. So, why is it that the skin around our eyes provides so many clues to our age?

The skin covering most of our body is durable, tough and resilient, whilst the thin, almost fragile skin surrounding our eyes, is extremely delicate and has some special characteristics such as:

– It is very thin and sensitive – much more than other facial skin

– It produces very little sebum making it highly prone to dryness

– Because of a dense capillary network and minimal fat padding, it is prone to puffiness and dark circles

– Squinting and other frequent eye movements are stressors for this area

So, what can we do to look after the health of the delicate skin surrounding our eyes? Is it possible to make your eyes look younger?

Certainly, keeping our bodies hydrated and getting enough restorative sleep is a key to us looking and feeling our best. However, if puffy eyes and wrinkles are starting to make you look less than fresh in the morning, then an anti-ageing eye treatment such as Shanga’s Eye Gel can help. It contains Eyeseryl which is a peptide designed to help the body drain fluid more effectively. This, in turn, decreases puffiness and bags under the eyes.

Eyeseryl also helps to improve the elasticity of the eye skin, reduces dark circles and inhibits their reappearance. As a result, the look of fine lines and wrinkles is diminished. Turn back time…sounds good to me. How about you…time for some Shanga eye cream I think.
